The overall purpose of the job is to oversee the daily operations and management of the preschool while ensuring the school is providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for the children that is in line with best practices and the institution’s policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the pre-school, ensuring that it is running smoothly and efficiently;
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the pre-school in liaison with the Deputy Head of School;

• The overall purpose of the job is to oversee all academic and examination processes in line with the school’s curriculum and supervise all Academic Heads of Departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor the teaching and learning process in order to achieve the set learning and teaching objectives;
• Supervision and allocation of duties amongst the teaching staff ensuring there is balance and alignment to the role mandate;
• Preparation of timetables – exams, lessons and remedial classes/sessions to ensure that all the subjects are covered and there is even distribution of subjects and avoid clashing of classes;

The overall purpose of this job is to provide students with a safe and inclusive learning environment by designing and implementing appropriate learning instructions and activities that align with the curriculum and manage overall student discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation of schemes of work and lesson plans for the section;
• Ensure smooth/seamless change-over from one activity/lesson to the next during class time;
• Develop and carry our assessment of the learners based on the content – both summative and formative in line with the term syllabus;
• Set exams, ensure they have been reviewed by the section lead, administer the same, mark and upload results into the system;
• Responsible for safeguarding the well-being of the learners both physically and emotionally;
• Escalate matters that are contrary to the expected learner behavior to the relevant office;
• Counsel and guide the learners as and when needed and escalate when higher interventions are required;
• Provide spiritual guidance to the learners according to the various faiths; ensure the learners attend their various religious classes as per the timetable;
• Conduct remedial classes for those learners that have learning gaps or lagging behind in some areas;
• Help to identify learners who have special needs and recommend interventions for specialized support;
• Teach life skills to the learners on issues to do with relationships, environmental preservation, global citizenship;
• Organize, and coordinate class activities, sports days and excursions for the class and attend the same;
• Develop activity and school budgets for approval by the Head of School at the beginning of the term;
• Participate in rotational school duties as and when required;
• Ensure the mission and vision of the school are communicated and explained clearly to the learners;
• Collaborate with the quality assurance department and implement feedback/recommendations provided afterward;
• Prepare teaching aides and presentations, learning materials for the learners in a timely manner;
• Prepare monthly reports on performance, class activities, trips and any updates relevant to the class; and
• Any other responsibilities assigned to the jobholder by the supervisor from time to time

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education, Major in Art and design or related field
• Must be registered with the Teacher Service Commission (TSC)
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience

Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure safe transportation of pupils to and from school by conducting pick-up and dropoff duties, while maintaining appropriate safety procedures when in transit;
• Develop daily lesson plans that incorporate the CBC framework and deliver lessons on numeracy, literacy, and understanding of the world to students;
• Create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environment for early year’s pupils and assess their progress and adaptability;
• Coordinate and facilitate the school trips and excursions, including selecting appropriate destinations, ensuring adequate transportation and ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils. The role should also evaluate the effectiveness of the trips/excursions and make improvements for future trips;
• Develop a termly scheme of work outlining the topics, expected outcomes, and resources to be used for each lesson;
• Prepare a daily occurrence report on classroom happenings and maintain accurate records of the students’ work;
• Organize and lead school assemblies twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, including coordinating pupil presentations and selecting those that would lead the assembly;
• Administer enrolment interview assessments for potential pupils, analyse the results, and key in the grades into Mzizi system whilst providing feedback to parents on their child’s results and responding to questions they may have;
• Develop a term-based theme and related projects focusing on life skills, culture, and other related areas;
• Conduct end-of-unit assessments to evaluate student understanding of the material covered and analyze the results to determine the effectiveness of the teaching methods used;
• Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment by ensuring that the classroom is safe, clean, and well-organized;
• Supervise students during classroom and outdoor activities to prevent accidents and promote positive behaviour;
• Participate in ongoing professional development such as seminars and workshops to stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education and teaching methodologies to enhance teaching skills and knowledge;
• Create a safe and stimulating learning environment by setting up displays, and bulletin boards that engage children’s curiosity and support their learning;
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child’s progress, strengths, and areas of improvement through regular parent teacher conferences, progress reports, and other forms of communication;
• Assist in setting up beds for nap time after lunch and closely supervise pupils during nap time to ensure their safety and well-being;
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of early year’s students.
• This includes using a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and resources to support student learning and success;
• Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, inclusion, and empathy by establishing clear expectations for behaviour and providing students with opportunities to collaborate and work together;
• Provide assistance with toileting and potty training, including changing diapers as needed;

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
