Pharmaceutical Technologist at Portal Pharmacy
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and highly skilled Pharmaceutical Technologist at Portal Pharmacy to join our team at Portal Pharmacy. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications, delivering exceptional customer care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and contributing to the branch’s overall performance.
This role requires more than just technical expertise — we are looking for someone who genuinely values customer service, understands sales goals, and is a strong team player. You will work under the guidance of the Branch Manager and will be expected to help achieve KPIs, including sales targets, while ensuring all assigned tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription and OTC medications with attention to safety and detail
- Offer clear and professional counseling on medication use, interactions, and side effects
- Maintain excellent customer care, both in-person and via online platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, social media inquiries)
- Assist in daily inventory management, including stock ordering, expiry tracking, and stock rotation
- Ensure regulatory and ethical compliance in line with PPB and internal SOPs
- Support the branch in achieving KPIs, including sales performance and customer service standards
- Manage point-of-sale and dispensing software systems efficiently
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Collaborate with the team to create a welcoming, organized, and efficient pharmacy environment
- Carry out administrative or operational tasks as assigned by the Branch Manager
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
- At least 2 years of experience in a busy retail or community pharmacy
- Valid registration and license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB)
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written – and the ability to engage clients confidently and respectfully
- Proven ability to manage customer interactions professionally, including digital communication (WhatsApp, social media, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure
- A team player with a proactive, problem-solving attitude
- Tech-savvy with familiarity in using pharmacy software systems and digital communication tools
- Strong ethical grounding, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for patient care
