Maintenance Technician at Royal Media Services. RMS Limited wishes to recruit competent individuals to the position of Maintenance Technician to help meet the growing demands of the organization

Key roles & responsibilities

  • Handle and maintain innovative broadcast equipment to guarantee optimal performance during live TV broadcasts & streams.
  • Ensure seamless television and radio program transmission.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement upgrades that enhance overall broadcast & streaming capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the production team to implement and address advanced broadcast systems, including cameras, virtual reality systems, audio equipment, and video editing tools.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and technical partners to explore and implement new technologies that align with the station’s needs
  • Stay on top of relevant broadcast standards and regulations to ensure compliance and uphold the highest quality standards.
  • Train and support production staff in the use of new technologies, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and inclusiveness.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to integrate systems with network infrastructure and ensure secure and efficient data flow.
  • Will undertake and assist in broadcast equipment installations for television, radio transmitters, microwave links and satellite systems at any company site spread across the country.
  • Ensure power conditioners (AVR) and Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) are operative and serviced.
  • Ensure power backup systems (standby power generator) are operative and serviced

Academic, professional Experience and person specification

  • Minimum degree in Telecommunication Engineering or its’ equivalent. A Masters will be a distinctive advantage.
  • Minimum five years’ hand on working experience in television, radio and satellite transmission equipment.
  • Knowledge in a wide range of broadcasting or IT equipment and systems
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
  • High level of personal integrity and reliability.
  • Team player
