These are your responsibilities

  • Document Editing: Providing document editing assistance in tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Reader.
  • Schedule Management: Managing the field schedule and travel plans for project staff.

  • Project Support: Assisting with project management tasks as needed for events or initiatives.

Driver (Jumuisha Project)

These are your responsibilities

  • Drive staff members and official visitors for project-related trips, activities and assignments as requested.
  • Facilitate the transfer of project visitors to/from their respective hotels to the office as well as airport transfers upon request.
  • Induct staff on vehicle SOPs before embarking on field mission.
  • Maintain an up-date record of the logbook (mileage, destinations, times & passengers, maintenance) for each trip in the book provided.
  • Uphold and abides by the Vehicle policy and local traffic rules and standards.
  • Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
  • Present proper receipts on any expenditure incurred on their vehicle to the Officer in charge.
  • Submit a written report if any damage is done or noticed on the vehicle.
  • Ensure the vehicle has all accessories, submission of status reports, maintenance, fuel, vehicle cleanliness and general observation of SOPs.
  • In liaison with the line supervisor, ensure that the Licenses are up-to date and that vehicles are well maintained and serviced on time as the need arises.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean.

Chief of Party

CBM seeks to recruit a Chief of Party based at the CBM Kenya Country Office. The job holder will oversee USAID Jumuisha project ensuring programme quality and donor requirements are met. Develops relationships and consults with, and represents the organization to donors, official authorities and other NGOs; to ensure compliance and to develop opportunities for collaboration and general development.

  • Provide strategic direction of all project activities. Develops and updates the project strategic plan, ensuring that programmatic directions are technically sound, evidence-based, and consistent with USAID priorities.
  • Ensures the project achieves the greatest possible impact including providing the necessary leadership to inspire and motivate the project team to implement performance objectives and mandates in a timely and cost-efficient fashion and meet the highest quality standards and value for money.
  • Develop a framework for learning and create an organizational culture of learning and knowledge sharing.

  • Master’s Degree in relevant areas of expertise or international development preferred.
  • Prior experience in Senior Management position in USAID/US Government funded project(s) e.g Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party.
  • Minimum (10 ) ten years of professional experience designing, managing and implementing international institutional donor funded projects of similar nature and value.
  • At least ten years of senior program experience working and living in a developing country, preferably with experience living in Kenya.
  • Knowledge of Government of Kenya rules and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of USAID approaches and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to commit and adhere to CBM mandate, mission, vision and values
