Terms of Engagement:

KEMRI–CCR PHRD (Thika) Clinical Trials Project is currently looking for motivated individuals to fill
in the following vacant position:
JOB PURPOSE
To assist in the daily running of data management systems, installation and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and networks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data collection, compilation, cleaning, investigational analysis, and processing for entry into databases
Carrying out routine data quality audits & controls
Coordination of various ancillary studies on-site
Preparing daily and weekly reports
Installing and configuring computer hardware, software systems, networks, printers, and
scanners
Trouble shooting
Designing, improving, and updating live databases for long term data storage and back-ups
Preparing daily and weekly reports
Designing, and developing case report forms for data collection for various projects being run
on site.
Training staff on guidelines, policies and procedures
Monitor security of all technology.
Any other duties assigned by Supervisor
Education and Professional training
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any related field
Professional certification in courses on analytic skills and database management.
Competencies
Data management and a well rooted individual in statistical analysis skills.
Good communication skills- both written and oral.
Skills in database development.
Terms of employment
Employment is on a one year renewable contract with a probation period for the first 3 months.
Salary is negotiable within the appropriate grade depending on education, experience and
demonstrated competency.

- Conducting fieldwork for data collection, including surveys and sample collection.
- Conducting laboratory experiments to optimize ONT protocols for pathogen de-tection.

Behavioral Care Manager

TUNAWIRI is a study aimed at integrating collaborative care for perinatal common mental diseases (CMD) within routine ANC/HIV services in Kenya, assessing the costs and cost-effectiveness of this approach, and working with policy and decision makers to determine key considerations for scale-up.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participant Recruitment and Screening: Support the recruitment and retention of participants.
Initial Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct initial assessment and evaluation of participants’ mental
health status using standardized tools and protocols.
Care Coordination: In liaison with the psychiatric nurse, participate in multidisciplinary case reviews
for patients not responding to interventions.
Behavioural Interventions: Monitor the delivery of behavioral interventions to participants by mentor
mothers according to the study protocol.
Monitoring and Follow-up: Monitor participants’ progress throughout the study, tracking changes in
their mental health symptoms and any adverse events, and conduct follow-up assessments at
scheduled intervals to gather longitudinal data.
Data Collection and Reporting: Accurately collect and document data into the DSEHR and utilize this
data to prioritize participant care.
Adherence to Ethical Standards: Interact with participants’ in accordance with ethical standards and
guidelines for research involving human subjects. This includes safeguarding participants’
confidentiality, respecting their autonomy, and protecting their well-being.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other members of the research team, including principal
investigators, clinicians, data analysts, and administrative staff. They contribute their expertise in
behavioral health to inform study design, interpretation of findings, and overall study management.
Participant Support and Advocacy: Provide health education on PMTCT, stigma, IPV, and CMD selfcare to participants.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology or a related field from a recognized institution.
Registered with relevant professional body.
Proficiency in data entry and management.
Training in behavioral health management is an added advantage.

Qualifications:
