Program Intern

- Main Responsibilities
The intern shall provide support in the following roles and responsibilities.
- Support Program implementation.
- Support in Programmatic Reporting.
- Undertake field Project Visits and Logistical Arrangements such as procurement and bookings.
- Reconciliations of funds provided.
- Undertake political and contextual analysis relating to program implementation.
- Convene and participate in programmatic and staff meetings.
- Provide social media and communication support.
- Provide support in fundraising through the development of Concept notes and proposals.
- Participate in discussions related to documents being developed, e.g., Organizational Strategy, Communication Strategy, and White Papers.
- Undertake other duties that may be assigned by the Program Advisor.
2. Qualifications
The Oslo Center is looking for applicants with the following sets of qualifications.
- University degree, preferably in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Those who are awaiting graduation are eligible to apply but must present their certified university transcripts and a recommendation letter from the university.
- A good understanding of the political background and recent developments in Kenya, particularly regarding political parties and alignments, electoral institutions, gender, and issues around women and youth.
- Knowledge of political parties and legislative activities.
- Strong professional oral and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and other computer-based software.
- Well-organized and skilled in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
- Flexible, diligent, and team oriented.
Finance and Admin Intern

Background
- The Oslo Center is seeking to recruit a Finance and Administration intern to contribute to its overall mission of the organization. In the daily work, the position will be part of the team in Kenya.
The intern shall provide support in the following roles and responsibilities.
- Assist in all procurement processes – Finance, Admin, and Programs.
- Assist in budgets (development, tracking, projections, and reporting).
- Assist in ensuring timely reconciliation of all financial transactions ensuring a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and sufficiency of documentation for all transactions at all times.
- Assist in the posting of transactions and preparation of financial statements for the Kenya office.
- Assist in bank reconciliations, both general transactions and project specific.
- Assist in statutory deductions and any other payroll deductions including filing Annual
- Returns and Withholding taxes to the relevant Government institutions promptly.
- Assist in preparing and processing payments, ensuring enough supporting documentation and reasonableness of such payments in compliance with TOC Finance Policy
- Ensure safe custody and record-keeping of all TOC Accounting documentation i.e. payment invoices and receipts, contracts, LPOs, vouchers, and TOC payment support documentation.
- Assist in all Audits and financial reviews conducted for the TOC Kenya office.
Qualifications
- Degree in finance / accounting / equivalent or an accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA).
- Working knowledge of donor reporting and grants management.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient in working with multiple currencies.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with an accounting software and openness to learning new systems.
- Competency in Microsoft office 365 and basic accounting practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask is essential to this position.
- Adhere to The Oslo Center and workplace policies.
- Fluency/proficiency in English, Kiswahili both spoken and written.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Communication Intern

Main Responsibilities
The intern shall provide support in the following roles and responsibilities.
Monitoring and Evaluation Support.
- Support in the monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures.
- Provide evaluation feedback on project and program design.
- Support in the implementation of TOC’s M&E strategy.
- Provide support at the proposal development and design stage of programs and projects for setting up the performance management framework and defined indicators to support the intended project objectives and goals.
- Support in the management of TOC’s database system for monitoring and evaluation and generating periodic reports to inform and guide the program.
- Assist in the development and/or finalization of the project Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.
- Support in all programmatic reporting to ensure evidence-based findings linked to impact, change, and learning.
Communication support
- Support in the implementation of TOC’s communication and visibility plan.
- Support in managing and updating the organization’s social media platform.
- Create engaging and informative content for social media posts, including graphics and videos.
- Engage with followers and respond to comments and messages on time.
- Assist in developing and implementing social media campaigns to raise awareness about TOC’s projects and initiatives.
- Provide support in analyzing social media metrics and preparing reports on the performance of social media campaigns.
Qualifications
The Oslo Center is looking for applicants with the following sets of qualifications.
- Undergraduate degree – preferably in a directly related field, e.g. Monitoring and Evaluation, Communication, development studies, project management, operational research, statistics, mathematics, etc.
- Demonstrated ability in data analysis or visualization tools, project design, monitoring, and evaluation of development activities.
- Demonstrated ability in social media management.
- Experience in developing performance management plans, results frameworks, and logical frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in monitoring and evaluating programs—including indicator development, study design, and data analysis—in multiple sectors.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages.
- Demonstrated experience in applying qualitative/participatory research methods. linking planning to M&E and results-based approaches.
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
