Shadow Teacher at Greensteds International School

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced male Shadow Teacher at Greensteds International School who will serve as a mentor and provide academic support to a student in our institution. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in Special Needs Education and a passion for fostering personal growth and academic success.

This role involves collaboration with educators and active engagement in the student’s social and extracurricular development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a deeper understanding of the mentee;s strengths, helping them build confidence and self-awareness.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to implement tailored strategies that enhance the mentee's learning experience and address specific needs.
  • Provide effective coping strategies to help the mentee manage anxiety and develop resilience.
  • Support the mentee in developing social skills and forming friendships, facilitating positive interactions with peers.
  • Encourage the mentee’s interest in sports by actively participating in sporting activities and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
  • Engage in various indoor games to enhance problem-solving skills, teamwork, and relaxation.
  • Assist with revision and assignment completion, ensuring the mentee understands the material and can apply it effectively.
  • Facilitate small group sessions or one-on-one tutoring in specific subjects as needed.
  • Assist students during classroom activities, providing real-time support and feedback.
  • Report regularly to the parent, providing updates on progress, challenges, and successes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education or a related field, with a focus on Science subjects.
  • Previous experience working with children with special needs, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Strong proficiency in a variety of sports and indoor games.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with the mentee and their family.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward supporting the mentee’s growth.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for students with special education needs.
  • Ability to create engaging and supportive learning environments.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individualized learning plans.
