Job Description

  • This position helps make gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the church. This position follows specific instructions and performs clerical work using established routines. Applies limited analysis and problem solving in performing job duties

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management/Administration Preferred  or a Diploma in Business Management/Administration with minimum of 2-4 years of experience in position or specialization or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Ability to apply basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization;
  • Ability to perform standardized duties and tasks; resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels;
  • Ability to work under direct supervision and follow standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.

Job Description

Ensures the temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately and made available to worthy church members by: providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple. Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the first presidency. Assist by providing necessary ordinance clothing for use in temples by patrons, workers, employees and volunteers

Responsibilities

  • 15% – Waits courteously on patrons to provide needed temple clothing in proper sizes.  Sees that sufficient clothing is on hand to supply patrons.  Tabulates      rental costs and receives monies from patrons, may operate cash register.
  • 20% – Folds all clothing and assembles packets with robes, aprons, veils, caps and sashes.
  • 15% – Operates sewing machine as assigned to size clothing, mends as necessary, and alters clothing as required.  Keeps sewing room and cupboards organized and reviews inventories for reordering supplies.
  • 15% – Supplies needed clothing to the baptistry as assigned.
  • 15% – Operates commercial laundry equipment.  Spot cleans clothing with appropriate cleaners and solutions and assists with steam pressing.
  • 10% – Sorts soiled clothing and keeps work area neat, clean and orderly.
  • 10%   – May keep daily production records10% – Performs daily preventative maintenance on laundry equipment such as routine cleaning of machinery, filters, vents and screens, etc.  and performs other related duties as assigned by the Temple Recorder.

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push and perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced work environment;

Housing Supervisor

Job Description

Provide an environment where patrons have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple. Under the direction of the Temple Recorder, this position will supervise the housing operations. They will instruct and perform defined tasks as outlined in the Temple Housing Guidebook. They will regularly supervise the work of other employees and provide recommendations on hiring and staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Will supervise employees and volunteers to coordinate the housing and housing laundry operations.
  • Supervise the reservation process, including phone calls, emails, checking patrons in and out, collect rent payments, and daily cash reconciliations.
  • Observe and report safety concerns of the building to Special Projects Department (SPD) and the administration of the property management system.
  • Schedule employees and volunteers to cover all hours of operation, launder and restock bedding, monitor inventory, and coordinate the ordering of supplies working within the approved budget.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Temple Recorder.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Management/Administration, Social Work, Hospitality and 3 years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supervisory experience or hospitality experience strongly desired.
  • Ability to teach and motivate workers to be accurate in their work.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.  Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment.
  • Computer system skills with the ability to learn new programs as needed.
  • Payment handling experience, understanding basic financial principles.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; bend, kneel, stoop, climb, twist, and have good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Clothing Supervisor

Job Description

  • Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency.

Provides a clean and well cared for temple clothing and other linen supplies for temple patrons, workers, and employees and see that an adequate inventory of clothing and limit is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • 10%  Oversees training of new workers through personal orientations, pairing new workers with experienced workers for detailed instruction, and monitoring the interaction of the pairs.
  • 20%  Insures prompt, cheerful service to all patrons desiring temple clothing through proper scheduling and supervision of workers.
  • 20%  Supervises staff maintaining discipline and high morale among workers. Monitors and evaluates performance of staff. Prepares time sheets and log of volunteer support hours.
  • 10%  Maintains adequate inventory of rental clothing, cleaning materials, etc., by monitoring stocks and initiating requisitions for new supplies with adequate lead time.
  • 10%  Sees that rental clothing is maintained in clean, serviceable condition, by monitoring its condition and by maintaining quality consciousness among the workers.
  • 15%  Assures that linen/laundry operation breaks even financially by correlating staffing requirements, rental charges, purchases, etc. with Temple Recorder. Supervises handling of, and accounting for, cash on daily basis.
  • 10%  Sees that patron’s service area presents a pleasing, orderly appearance by monitoring its appearance and initiating any needed corrective action..
  • 5% Any other tasks as may be assigned by the Temple Recorder.
