Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. CCBA is a market leader in the NARTD non-alcoholic ready to drink market in Africa. The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe guarding of company assets & inventory whilst minimizing risk, fraud and losses through ensuring compliance to stock management and control processes and procedures.
Key Purpose Statement
- To manage the execution of the operational requirements of the warehouse in support of the logistics strategy in an efficient and cost effective manner so that service excellence to other departments and the customer can be ensured.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Key Outputs and Accountabilities
- Manage the Operational team in the execution of all inbound and outbound movement:
- In support of the daily load plan, ensure the accurate picking, staging and loading of product for the purposes of on-time outbound movement, and the accurate counting, receiving and unloading of product for the purposes of inbound movement, whilst ensuring optimal site turnaround time.
- Ensure on-time replenishment of picking and staging areas.
- Actively work to identify and remove obstacles to improve operational efficiency
Manage the team in terms of stock management and inventory accuracy:
- Full product, containers, and support materials managed within storage locations as per warehouse layout, and adherence to stacking requirements per dedicated bin is enforced
- Execute daily decisions and prioritisation to ensure customer service and operational efficiency processes
Manage an effective and accurate Production Interface:
- Ensure stock is removed from the production lines / containers and quality pallets are fed to the production lines in such a way that there are no disruptions to the production process, and that all items issued and received are accurately signed off between Warehouse and Manufacturing. (Wet Site)
Manage all tasks within the standards of excellent housekeeping:
- Drive excellent housekeeping standards whilst adhering to warehouse layout guidelines by ensuring the correct product is stacked in the correct bins.
Manage the effective care for Company assets within the team:
- Ensure the operation of company assets such as forklifts and pallet jacks within the team takes place in a safe manner, with the necessary pre-trip inspection process and reporting of damages / breakdown in place.
- Drive the productive utilisation of assets as indicated by optimal fuel usage and the elimination of abuse.
- Care for company assets by keeping them in optimal condition according to the company policy and specifications.
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain.
Experience
- 3 years’ supervisory experience in warehouse setup.
- Supervisory and people management experience.
Competencies
- Sound knowledge of all Warehouse Processes (and accountable parties) and understanding of inter-relationships between processes
- Deep understanding of the Settlement, Proof of Delivery and Stock Management Processes
- Deep insight into warehouse performance measures and levers that impact on the achievement of measures
- Sound Financial acumen
- Knowledge to enable effective Asset Care
- Sound systems knowledge (Dynamics)
- Leading understanding of key performance indicators within the Warehouse
- Understanding of key performance indicators within Distribution that are impacted by the Warehouse
