The Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) is an indigenous non-profit community conservancy membership organisation. Its mission is to develop resilient community conservancies that transform lives, secure peace, and conserve natural resources. NRT currently supports 45 community conservancies across Kenya in 10 counties (Marsabit, Laikipia, Isiolo, Meru, Baringo, Samburu, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu and West Pokot counties) and Uganda.

Field Operations Manager
Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT)
Location: The position will be based in Kaabong, Uganda with regular field visits to Turkana County.
Job type: Full-time.
Reporting: Program Director.
Salary: Competitive based on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary:
The Field Operations Manager will be responsible for facilitating improvement of organizational capability by developing and harmonizing systems and processes and involving people to maximize ownership, commitment, and engagement to achieve project excellence.
- This is a facilitative role that co-ordinates and integrates activities across Human Resource, Administration, Procurement, Logistics, Fleet Management, Infrastructure development and maintenance activities while ensuring that they are delivered to the highest quality, on time and within budget.
- Success will be determined by how effectively and efficiently these processes are coordinated to deliver value and support operations across all units in NRT and the conservancies.
County Conservancies Coordinator – Turkana County

Location: Based in Lodwar Town to support new conservancies and government engagement.

Job Summary:
The County Conservancies Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the NRT member community led conservancies towards self-reliance, ensuring the integration of sustainable conservation, management and utilization of natural resources, protection of the ecological integrity of the community land; peace building and community policing to resolve natural resource related conflicts; develop conservancy tourism and other economic businesses, and prudent livestock husbandry to transform the livelihoods of the members of the conservancies within the Regional.
- The role will be pivotal in strengthening the partnership and linkages between NRT member conservancies, government, and other key stakeholder to secure policy, laws, and financial support to achieve regional community led conservancy sustainability.
- He/she will be equally promoting conservancy’s’ leadership and management governance structures embracing social inclusivity (gender and special groups mainstreaming) with the aim of increasing their participation in decision making processes in the conservancy operations and programs.
Project Finance Manager

Location: The position will be based in Kampala, Uganda with scheduled visits to NRT HQ in Nanyuki, Kenya
Job type: Full-time.

Job Summary:
The Project Finance Manager will be part of the project management unit, responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the finances of the project and ensure compliance with the EU financial policy as well as statutory financial requirements.
- The role will ensure Project and partners operations are running smoothly and effectively, ensuring prudent management of donor funds.
- The role will also be responsible for Consolidating partner’s financial requirement and follow up with NRT Finance to ensure they are delivered according to the directives of the proposal.

Job Summary:
The position reports to the field operations manager and will be required to have the overall responsibility of offering both administrative and logistic support to the transboundary project and help in achieving set target and objectives.
