The Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Marketing and Communications Intern to support the Institute’s marketing, communication and public
relations initiatives. The Marketing and Communications Intern at Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) will assist in the development of promotional content, management of social media platforms, coordination of events, and execution of marketing strategies to enhance the Institute’s brand visibility and engagement with its stakeholders.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in marketing and communications while contributing to the mission of promoting good governance in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in creating engaging content for the Institute’s website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication channels.
2. Help design marketing collateral such as brochures, posters, flyers, and motion graphics.
3. Manage and monitor the Institute’s social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook), including posting content, engaging with the audience, and analyzing performance metrics.
4. Assist in writing press releases and media briefs, and coordinating media coverage for ICS events.
5. Contribute to the planning and execution of marketing campaigns aimed at growing membership and increasing the visibility of ICS programs.
6. Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager or CEO

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • Skills in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are an added advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
