Finance Officer at Faith Aid – Kenya. Faith Aid – Kenya is seeking a diligent and experienced Finance Officer to join our team. The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing our financial operations, including working with QuickBooks Online, handling grant reporting and compliance, creating and monitoring budgets, and paying vendors according to established contracts, among other duties. The ideal candidate will be a registered CPA in Kenya with at least three years of experience in similar roles within the nonprofit sector.

  • Financial Management: Maintain and oversee the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • QuickBooks Online: Utilize QuickBooks Online for all accounting functions.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with department heads and the executive team.
  • Grant Management: Oversee grant accounting, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, timely reporting, and effective utilization of funds.
  • Contracts Management: Manage contracts with vendors, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and facilitate external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Donor Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports to donors and funding agencies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with program managers, project coordinators, and other staff to ensure alignment of financial and programmatic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Registered CPA in Kenya.
  • Bachelor’s degree in directly applicable field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of grant management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Faith Aid.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Christian nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and nonprofit regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: The salary for this position ranges from KES 65,000 to KES 85,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
