Resident/Studio DJ at Royal Media Services. RMS wishes to recruit a suitably qualified individual for the position of resident/ Studio DJ. He/she will be responsible for selecting and playing music for RMS radio and TV stations as well as various events. He/she will report to the Head of Radio.

Key roles & responsibilities
- Research, plan and develop on air content, ideas and concepts in line with the station strategy and values.
- On air presentation/continuity and acting on feedback from listeners.
- Music research, identify and propose music that should be incorporated into the station sound.
- Carry out outside broadcasting/Road shows and attend functions on behalf of the station.
- Receiving briefs from clients/ marketers/ supervisor and executing accordingly.
- Scripting, recording, packaging and producing station features
- Creatively create and execute on air gaming elements
- Cross-promote the company’s online & traditional product lines
- Conceptualize and execute online campaigns for various projects
- Experience in gospel show presentation and understanding of the Kenyan and East African gospel landscape
- Operate DJ equipment and software, create playlists, and engage with the audience.
- Advise supervisor on new trends in industry and online tools and trends
Essential Competences
- Able to work odd hours including weekends and holidays without supervision.
- Must be social media savvy, innovative and creative
- Extensive knowledge of various music genres and ability to mix tracks seamlessly
- Familiarity with DJ equipment and software, such as turntables, mixers, and Serato
- Strong understanding of sound systems and audio technology
- Ability to read and understand crowds and adapt music accordingly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Passion for music and creating an enjoyable atmosphere
Academic and professional/work Experience
- Diploma or Degree in journalism, mass communications, or any other related field
- At least 3 Years Proven experience as a Disk Jockey(Dj). Experience Dj-ing at a media house will be an added advantage
- Fluent in spoken and written Swahili and English with a radio voice & personality
