Assistant Director of Physical Planning

Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Initiating, preparing, and monitoring the implementation of County and local physical and Land Use development plans.
  • Providing advice on development applications and development control matters.
  • Implementing and providing feedback on physical and land use planning guidelines and standards.
  • Managing physical and land use planning data.
  • Preparing action plans for specific projects such as residential housing schemes, shopping centers, industrial estates, and recreational facilities.
  • Undertaking thematic regional studies on matters relating to physical and land use planning.
  • Preparing annual state of physical planning reports on county and local physical and land use development plans.
  • Set agendas and convene physical planning liaison committee meetings; and
  • Keeping record of deliberations and communicate decisions
  • of the physical planning liaison committees.
  • Any other duty that may be allocated by the supervisor.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning or equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya;
  • Be registered by the Physical Planners Registration Board.
  • Be a corporate member of the Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter)
  • Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than four (4) years in the professional field.
  • A senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
  • Have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
  • Have demonstrated merit and shown ability as reflected in work performance and results.
  • Be proficient in computer skills.

Chief Superintending Engineer II (Civil/Structural) – 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Design, preparation of bills of quantities and detailing of structural and civil works drawings for various structures such as roads, sewage, retaining walls and footbridges.
  • Co-ordination of digitization of drawings and management of plans, records and storage; retrieval and construction of information.
  • Preparation of tender documents.
  • Monitoring and supervision of construction works. v) Any other duty that may be allocated by the supervisor.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Been registered by the engineers’ board of Kenya (EBK)/Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) as a professional Engineer;
  • Have a current valid annual practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya
  • Be a corporate member ofthe  Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)
  • Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than four (4) years in the professional field
  • Demonstrate competency and ability required to handle technical and administrative matters at this level
  • Be proficient in computer skills.

Director Valuation

  • Enforcing relevant provisions of various statutes relating to valuation;
  • Undertaking Stamp Duty valuations;
  • Preparation of Valuation Roll;
  • Undertaking investigations on valuation disputes and appeals;
  • Generating, collecting, and remitting revenue from valuation services;
  • Preparing valuation case briefs and responses to County assembly issues;
  • Attending courts and tribunals on valuation matters;
  • Coordinating valuation of assets for Departments in the County;
  • Coordinating assessment of ground rent during sub-divisions and alienations.
  • Preparing research proposals on emerging valuation trends and issues;
  • Preparing reports on the impact of infrastructural projects on land values;
  • Coaching and mentoring of staff

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than six (6) years in the professional field
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Land Economics, Real Estate and Property Studies or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Been registered by the Valuers Registration Board;
  • Be proficient in computer skills;

Clinical Officers III

Registered Nurses Interns – 6 Posts

Requirements for appointment

  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya
  • Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;
  • Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya; and
  • Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Be aged 35 years and below.

Duties and Responsibilities

This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  • Assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient outcomes;
  • Providing appropriate healthcare services including Integrated Management Of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Immunization, PMTCT, Ante-Natal Care and Delivery, Providing Health Education and Counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs;
  • Referring patients and clients appropriately;
  • Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans;
  • Maintaining records on patients’/clients’ health conditions and care;
  • Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; and
  • Collecting and compiling data.
