Job Summary
Reporting to the Credit Manager, the job holder will be responsible for ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of all loan processes and procedures with an objective of achieving a healthy loan portfolio.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the Society achieves its target on quality loan book as per the SASRA prudential guidelines and in line with Sacco’s and Banking Acts.
- Providing the management with monthly reports on loan delinquency.
- Monthly review of the portfolio at risk of Companies that have a check off arrangement with the Sacco.
- Loan portfolio monitoring and collections in liaison with the branches.
- Secretary to the debt collection monthly meetings and circulate minutes of the same meeting to all committee members.
- Ensuring there is proper loan categorization in the system for the non-performing loan portfolio.
- Recommending and executing write offs as per the policies, process, and procedures.
- Working closely with external debt collectors to maximize on recoveries.
- Ensuring the Society’s debts are recovered on time and efficiently.
- Coordinating daily execution of debt follow up by phone, Client visits, and recovery.
- Maintaining an updated database of all loan accounts and collections done with specific dates.
- Representing the Sacco in court in matters of Debt Disputes in liaison with Legal department.
- Review members’ files to identify delinquent accounts for collection and ensure proper loan categorization.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in debt collection within the financial service industry.
- Fully conversant with lending in the Kenyan business environment.
- Qualifications in Credit Management/Debt Collection will be a definite advantage.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience in working with targets and strict deadlines.
- Good planning, analytical and monitoring skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
Credit Analyst Assistant

Job Summary
Reporting to the Credit Administrative Officer, the job holder will be responsible for monitoring performing loan portfolio of personal loans
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assessing the creditworthiness of an individual or corporation by gathering relevant information from the members to assess their ability to honor financial obligations.
- Assisting in analyzing Credit files from Branches and providing timely recommendations.
- Preparation of business credit files for head office credit committee.
- Reviewing sector / Industry credit concentration exposures.
- Conducting second-level business visits and providing reports on agreed-upon deliverables.
- Monitoring the lending process in accordance with laid down Credit processes.
- Periodic updating and maintenance of the Credit Risk register.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounts, Finance, or related field.
- Professional Credit or Accounting qualifications an added advantage
Experience
Three (3) years’ experience in credit analysis, loan portfolio management, or risk
management, preferably in the banking, financial services, or lending sectors is required.
Knowledge, skills and attributes
- Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages
- Ability to communicate.
- Ability to interpret Financials and make sound decisions out of it.
- Analytical and keen to details.
- Innovative and creative.
- Ability to take personal initiative and work with minimal supervision
