Head of Marketing, Brand, and Communications

M.P Shah Hospital is looking to recruit a professional and evidence-driven person for a position as the Head of Marketing, Brand, and Communications

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Marketing, Brand, and Communications will be
responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hospital’s marketing, public relations, social media, and
community engagement strategies. This role will play a key role in amplifying the hospital’s position as a
leader in healthcare services while maintaining and enhancing its reputation in the community.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the hospital’s vision and business goals.
  • Identify key marketing opportunities to attract new patients and increase engagement with existing ones.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, print, and outdoor advertising.

Brand Development and Management

  • Lead brand positioning and development to strengthen the hospital’s image as a trusted healthcare provider.
  • Ensure consistent application of brand guidelines across all touchpoints, both online and offline.
  • Continuously assess and improve brand perception and hospital reputation through various channels.

Digital Marketing and Social Media

  • Develop and execute a robust digital marketing strategy, including social media, website content, SEO, and online advertising.
  • Monitor trends in healthcare marketing and leverage emerging technologies to keep the hospital’s digital presence up-to-date.
  • Manage content creation and messaging to ensure that it resonates with target audiences.

Public Relations and Communications

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage both internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee media relations and manage crisis communications when necessary.
  • Organize and execute events, press releases, and public announcements to promote hospital milestones, services, and achievements.

Internal Communications

  • Foster positive relationships with staff and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent internal messaging.
  • Ensure hospital staff are informed and engaged through internal newsletters, intranet updates, and staff meetings.

Community Engagement and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

  • Build and maintain relationships with key community organizations and healthcare influencers.
  • Drive CSR initiatives and promote hospital involvement in health education, awareness programs, and outreach.

Market Research and Analytics

  • Conduct market research to understand patient needs, industry trends, and competitor strategies.
  • Use data-driven insights to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and continuously optimize strategies.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and manage the marketing and communications team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Set performance goals, track KPIs, and ensure high standards of creativity and execution.

Qualifications &Legal Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in marketing, brand, and communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the healthcare sector or a related industry.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, brand management, public relations, and content development.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare industry trends and the ability to adapt marketing strategies accordingly.

Quality Improvement Officer

M.P Shah Hospital is looking to recruit a professional and evidence-driven person for a vacancy
in the Administration Division, as the Quality Improvement Officer.

Reporting to the Risk and Quality Improvement Manager, the overall purpose of this role is to
oversee the implementation of quality improvement by analyzing, identifying, monitoring quality
programs and ensuring quality improvement systems are maintained in accordance with best
practice Standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership and direction

  • Support the implementation of Quality improvement program for the hospital. Provides professional advice on operational excellence throughout the hospital.
  • Planning, priority setting and decision making to ensure that quality and risk management is
    implemented across the organization.

Performance and Process Improvement (PPI)

  • Provides support and coordination to department and service leaders for quality improvement measures and activities across the hospital.
  • Facilitate development of standards, policies and procedures for quality
    improvement.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Implements a monitoring and evaluation frameworks for quality improvement in the hospital. Develops monitoring and audit tools for all quality aspects in the hospital, coordinates a leads a monitoring and evaluation team.
  • Provides leadership and support for all teams during the process.

Data analysis, Validation, Benchmarking and Reporting

  • Implements data analysis and data validation policies and procedures. Initiates and develops implementation of data collection and subsequent improvements. Supports departments and teams in analysis of quality data relevant to their departments, offers support and guidance on the same as required.
  • Participates in benchmarking, both internal and external benchmarking.

Coaching, Mentoring and Training

  • Mentor and develop teams on quality improvement in assigned departments. Develop and participate in regular quality improvement trainings.

Research and Innovation

  • Participate in quality improvement research to ensure the hospital keeps improving in line with best practice and evidence based practices.
  • Regularly innovate or recommend innovative solutions which will solve quality and patient safety challenges in the hospital.

Regulatory and accreditation

  • Participate in AMUA; JCI Accreditation standard implementation across the whole hospital, and act as the JCI Survey coordinator.
  • Participate in ISO standards implementation and KAIZEN implementation process.

Risk Management

  • Implement an effective risk management program in the designated department(s). Participate in risk management activities.

Qualifications, Regulatory & Legal Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Basic Certification in Healthcare Quality.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in clinical quality improvement preferably in a
    hospital setting.
  • Knowledge in sustainability and green initiatives will be an added advantage.
  • Must have valid practicing license.
  • Must be computer literate

Legal Assistant

M.P Shah Hospital is looking to recruit a professional and evidence-driven person for a position in the Legal Department as a Legal Assistant.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, the overall purpose of the job is to provide overall legal expertise and support on legal issues relating to the functions, structures and activities of the Hospital and support management on issues pertaining to legal and regulatory framework and monitor compliance with legal and regulatory corporate governance requirements in order to minimize legal costs and safeguard the hospital’s interests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Document Preparation

  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, including contracts, agreements, subpoenas, pleadings, and correspondence. Ensure accuracy and adherence to established legal guidelines.

Research and Analysis

  • Conduct legal research using various resources, such as online databases and legal publications, to gather information and support the legal team in their decision-making process.

Case Management

  • Assist in managing legal cases by organizing and maintaining case files, retrieving relevant documents, and tracking important deadlines and court appearances.

Meeting Support

  • Coordinate and schedule legal department meetings, compile meeting agendas, and take Minutes during legal discussions.

Record Keeping

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date legal records and databases, ensuring easy access to critical information when required.

Teamwork and collaboration

  • Work objectively with the hospital staff in driving the hospital strategic objectives.

Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including managing calendars, answering phone calls, handling correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.

Policy Review

  • Participate in the review and update of hospital policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.

Legal Updates

  • Stay informed and advise on changes in relevant laws and regulations that may impact the hospital and its operations.

Qualifications & Legal Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB)
  • Admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya
  • Minimum of 1 year working experience post admission
  • Experience in Contract drafting and document preparation
  • Must have valid membership and hold a valid Practicing Certificate.
  • Be a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK)
