WHAT IS THE GLOBAL GRADUATE PROGRAM & WHAT DO WE OFFER?

The Global Graduate Programme is a fast-track development initiative designed for graduates with less than 3 years of post-graduate experience, who are eager to make a real impact from day one. This intensive 18-month program aims to develop the next generation of leaders in BAT, providing participants with a deep understanding of various operational areas, including:

• Planting: Hands-on experience in Planting, harvesting, curing, and buying of tobacco.
• Process: Experience the threshing and maintenance process at our threshing plant.
• Make (Manufacturing): Hands-on experience in the manufacturing process.
• Plan (Balancing Supply with Demand): Mastering the art of supply chain management.
• Logistics: Navigating supply chain flow and strategy.
• Procurement: Focusing on innovation, smart spending, and quality partnerships.
• Service: Understanding consumer/customer needs and supporting global business services transformation.
• Product Innovation: Collaborating with Operations for innovative solutions.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Graduate with a Bachelor’s in Agribusiness Management, Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Engineering, and/or Science related programs.
• No more than 3 years post-graduate experience. Experience in Supply Chain or Agriculture or in a Manufacturing setup is required.
• Leadership is demonstrated through extra-curricular activities.

• Good analytical and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong intercultural competencies from cross-cultural and/or international experiences.
• Self-motivation, willingness to take initiative, and a drive to succeed.
• National and/or international mobility.

Key Accountabilities

 Operations/ Professional/ Business

• Coordinate the adoption of the Product Integrity & Traceability Roadmap in PMD and undertake regular audits to eliminate high-risk activities and identify opportunities for improvement through process mapping, risk assessments, Mitigations /controls, and regular audits.
• Confirm production plan balances at the beginning of the shift and carry out sampling and measurement as per defined BAT Methods, advice operator,s and continuously monitor tobacco parameters.
• •Develop and complete Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (P-FMEA) for all key processes in PMD and put in place improvement plans to drive a structured approach in continual improvement.
• •Perform Process & machine capability analysis on all key processes and machines in PMD and use it to drive improvements.
• •Download data from moisture meters, analyze and generate reports using statistical and share with all stakeholders.
• •Carry out protocol runs after machine overhauls, installation, and maintenance.
• •Monitor beetle infestation trends and trigger control actions to ensure that infestation is properly controlled in the PMD.
• •Coordinate blend changes to ensure they are properly executed using correct specifications and process parameters.
• •Perform planned calibrations and cross-checks on quality assurance equipment in accordance with the requirements of BAT protocols. Crosscheck all equipment daily before use and document appropriately.

Management

• Recommend decisions about process and tobacco that deviate from the prescribed quality standards, report these deviations to the PMD Cell manager and process analyst, and take the necessary action to ensure that the noncompliance CRT is not used in SMD or exported.
• Present quality performance reports to the manufacturing team:  weekly, and monthly quality performance and infestation reports.
• Support new product introductions and trials on PMD processes by monitoring set parameters and reporting process and quality performance.

 Leadership

• Training teams on work procedures and continual improvement tools.
• Provide support to teams through daily quality reports, monthly meetings discussion, ongoing feedback on process and quality performance with improvement opportunities and initiate corrective actions

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• •Candidate must possess a Minimum degree in Chemistry, Statistics or engineering as a major study area and at least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment in an FMCG organization (preferred).
• •Know-how of key quality control/assurance concepts and their implementation.
• •Communication: able to actively listen and lead an open and productive dialogue with all stakeholders of different levels and outside partners.
• •Knowledge of production processes and quality management systems
• •Must have basic personal computer skills.
• •Report writing skills. They should have good administration and clerical skills
• •Have good time management skills with a focus on results
• •External relationships: able to develop a network within the group and outside, for continuous benchmarking of results and practices, and for personal ongoing development
