About the job Head of Student Affairs at NIBS Technical College
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of student life and well-being within our institution, in addition to the following key responsibilities: –
- Provide general supervision and guidance to student organizations, clubs, and sports teams on campus.
- Collaborate with department heads and staff across the campus to support educational activities outside the classroom that enhance the student experience and promote engagement. Facilitate service opportunities to foster community and talent development.
- Oversee the implementation of co-curricular activities on campus, aligning them with the academic calendar.
- Coordinating students’ meetings such as orientation, prayer and special meetings, maintaining proper records of the same.
- Provide leadership and management of bereavement affecting a student or member of staff and ensure that the situation is handled with a sense of care.
- Assist in identifying genuinely needy students and actively seek out sources and strategies to provide them with financial support, such as bursaries.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new students to help them integrate into the campus community.
- Organize career advancement motivational talks as well as departmental extracurricular activities, and field academic trips to provide students with practical industry experiences.
- Actively identify, nurture, and promote talent within the campus.
- Coordinate guidance and counselling to students with varying needs in liaison with the student’s counsellor office.
- Promote and participate in student awareness and campaigns programs on emerging issues affecting students
- Collaborate with department heads on student dropouts and develop strategies for student retention.
- Enforce school policies and procedures for students, and effectively manage the student affairs budget and resources.
- As an employee of the College, you will be held responsible for the safety of the equipment and property under your care. Any losses incurred by the institution due to your negligence or acts of omission will be charged on you.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant field, candidates with a Master’s Degree will have added advantage.
- 5 Years teaching experience, 3 years in a supervisory role.
