Production Engineer

Job Field – Engineering / Technical 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Ensure production of highest quantity and quality at the Roll forming section.
  • Oversee the Roll Forming process, ensuring cost effective production.
  • Set and meet production targets through daily execution of Production schedules at Roll Forming section.
  • Monitor product standards and implementing quality-assurance initiatives, making sure that products are produced on time and are of good acceptable quality.
  • Ensure optimum capacity utilization and requirements; analysing the quality and quantity of production and instituting corrective actions to eliminate deficiencies.
  • Focusie on priorities, backlogs, breakdowns, and other aspects affecting planned schedules; participating in finding solutions for repetitive equipment failures and product complaints.
  • Drive the implementation and usage of systems of production tracking (SAP) and quality control.
  • Ensure equipment health.
  • Provide Technical support for daily production activities. Actively participate in problem solving for safety, productivity and quality improvement.
  • Cost and consumption control of material such as strapping wire, lifting belts / tongs and Power at finishing ensuring that they conform to the Budget.
  • Supervise and motivate a team of workers; reviewing worker performance, Appraisal of Subordinates at finishing; Identifying training needs.
  • Ensure compliance to Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety.
  • Maintain OSHAS, ISO 9001 & 14001 documentation at Roll Forming section.
  • Implement and support 6S programmes at Roll Forming.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical and Process Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Pickling and Acid Regeneration Operation.
  • Knowledge in Kaizen and ISO 9001 & 14001.
  • Proficiency in ERP SAP module will  be  an added advantage
  • Technical Knowledge in Metal forming operations.

Logistics Planner

Job Field – Logistics 

Main Purpose of the Position:

To execute Logistics management strategy efficiently. The position is responsible for effective planning, arrangement and managing transportation for outbound logistics of finished goods to maximize customer services at reduced cost. Ensures that all distribution, fleet programs and divisional initiatives are executed as designed by providing leadership and coordination of activities. This includes the direct responsibility for efficient operation of all routes to increase sales and reduce operation costs. The position also involves coordination of export orders, documentation and to resolve of problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports and customer issues. Finally, the position will fulfil a central coordinating role between BU departments on their logistic needs, balancing their different priorities and limitations to reach optimal solutions for the company as a whole.

Responsibility for Internal and External relations

Internal:

  • Coordinate with Planning and Customer Service Manager and implement overall Logistic optimization strategy in regard to cost, mode of transportation and efficiency.
  • Coordinating with sales and Projects departments on customer order fulfilment plans
  • Coordinating coil deliveries to downstream BU’s with their respective Supply Chain Managers

External:

  • Coordination and follow up with logistic service providers
  • Coordinating with external customers on the fulfilment of their orders

Planning

  • Implement, evaluate and maintain/improve effective dispatch and in/outbound transportation planning processes and systems through continuous evaluation and improvement.

Logistics

  • Plan and organize Vehicles on day to day basis for outbound operation in consultation and effective co-ordination with third party logistic service providers and Team Lead to ensure that all Orders are fulfilled accurately, error free and speedily.
  • Manage daily operations of Logistics with a concentration on domestic & export outbound.
  • Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
  • An efficient management of Transportation to ensure smooth & timely supply of products across the locations.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with outbound domestic carriers.
  • Liaise with vendors and transportation companies regarding inter- and intra-company shipments and expedite where required in order to prevent delays and extra charges/demurrage
  • Liaise with internal/external customers on loading and delivery of orders following the dispatch plan, including proper documentation for export shipments
  • Load and dispatch customer orders following the dispatch plan, in order to achieve maximum On Time In Full deliveries
  • Review and respond to internal and external service performance and interact with carriers regarding issues.
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification and performance evaluation.
  • Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage, motivate, train, and develop Logistics team in order to meet total customer service.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in operations, and sales to increase efficiency of outbound logistic operations and execute all sales orders accurately, error-free and timely.

Requirements

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum academic qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain/Logistics
  • Qualifications as an added advantage: Certified Course in Supply Chain
  • Professional registration: IIMM / IFPSM / CIPS / APICS

Experience required:

  • General work experience (years): 4+ years in ERP based Supply Chain Logistics
  • Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): 3 years in a similar role managing busy Logistics Environment
  • Industry: Manufacturing, Consumer goods
  • Experience of managing various Transporters and fleet management is preferred.

Key reponsibilities:

  • Adhere to health and Safety guidelines, safe work practise and good housekeeping (wear PPEs at all times).
  • Operate the cranes as per production and dispatch requirements.
  • Ensure safe use of the crane by inspecting the conditions of lifting wire rope before and during use and recording observations of all checked items as per crane inspection checklist.
  • Ensure proper balancing of loads to avoid damaging of material, equipments and injury to other employees and customers.
