The Hospital is soliciting qualified applicants for the position of Paediatric ophthalmologist.
Purpose of the job
The Pediatric Ophthalmologist will be part of the medical team and will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing eye conditions and vision problems in children from infancy through adolescence. The responsibility will also include working closely with young patients and their families to provide compassionate care and ensure optimal eye health.
Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address complex cases and provide comprehensive treatment plans.
Essential Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Ophthalmology.
- Fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology.
- Registered with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (MPDC).
- Possess a valid Medical Licence and a Specialist Recognition Certificate with the MPDC.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for children of all ages.
- Diagnose and treat pediatric eye conditions such as amblyopia, strabismus, and congenital cataracts.
- Perform surgical procedures when necessary to correct vision problems or eye disorders.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as needed.
- Educate families on preventive eye care and the importance of regular check-ups.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide multidisciplinary care.
- Maintain detailed patient records and follow up on treatment outcomes.
- Stay updated on advancements in pediatric ophthalmology and incorporate best practices into patient care.

Purpose of the job
The Retina Specialist will be part of the medical team and will play a critical role in diagnosing, managing, and treating a wide range of retinal and vitreous diseases. The holder of this position is expected to apply their expertise to help improve the vision and quality of life for patients suffering from conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and other complex retinal disorders. The role will involve working closely with other ophthalmologists, optometrists, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Essential Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Ophthalmology.
- Fellowship training in retina and vitreous diseases.
