Internship Programmes at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC)
Kenya Broadcasting Corporation is a State Corporation established under the KBC Act
(Cap. 221) and operating under the Ministry of Information, Communications and the
Digital Economy.
The Corporation is seeking to engage six (6) qualified and motivated interns to undertake internship programmes for a maximum (non-renewable) period of twelve (12) months in the following Departments as per the outlined basic requirements:-
Internship Programmes
- Technical Services Department (Transmission /Production) – Intern
- Television Programmes Department (Design) – Intern
- Radio Services Department ( Creative) – Intern
- Digital Department – Intern – 2 posts
- Legal Department – Intern
Technical Services Department (Transmission /Production) – Intern
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree OR Diploma in Telecommunicationi or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution
- Must be computer literate
- Knowledge in transmission and production
Television Programmes Department (Design) – Intern
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree OR Diploma in Graphic design /3D Graphic design or its equivalent from a recognized Institution
- Computer Proficiency
- Creativity and innovativeness
Radio Services Department ( Creative) – Intern

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree OR Diplomain Journalism, Mass Communication, or Broadcast Journalism from a recognized Institution
- Must be computer literate
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili
- Strong oral communication, writing, editing and analytical skills
Digital Department – Intern – 2 posts
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree OR Diploma in Computer Scienceo/Soft Ware Engineering/ Information Technlogy/Computer Programming/Web Development or Soft Ware Development.
OR
- Bacheor’s Degree OR Diploma in Journalism , Mass Communication, Media Studies, Public Relations, Graphic Design from a recognized University
- Practical skills in either Web Development, Soft ware Development, Mobile App Development or Database Development
- Familiarity with social media platforms
Legal Department – Intern

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized Institution
- Must be computer literate
- Drafting, report writing, planning and organisational skills.
Other requirements:
- Kenyan youth aged between 21 and 34 years
- Have graduated from College / University not earlier than the year 2019
- Must attach copies of certificates, academic transcripts, updated curriculum vitae, national identity card or passport alongside the application letter
- Must indicate the specific area of interest / department covered in the advert.
How to Apply
Upon succesful selection and intake, the interns will be required to submit the following
documents:-
- Personal accident insurance cover for the entire period of internship
- Medical insurance cover by the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) or any other
reputable medical insurance firm - PIN certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority.
- NSSF card
- Two coloured passport photographs
- Bank account details
- Recommendation/reference letter from the Institution attended.
- Certificate of Good Conduct
