Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven, and guest-focused General Manager to lead our hotel operations in Nairobi, Kenya. The Hotel General Manager at Little Kitchen Help Ltd will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the property, including operations, guest services, human resources, financial performance, sales, and marketing. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with proven expertise in hospitality management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of all hotel departments (front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance, security, etc.)
- Ensure the highest standards of guest service and satisfaction.
- Lead and manage hotel staff, fostering a positive and performance-driven culture.
- Develop and implement business strategies to drive occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR).
- Monitor financial performance, prepare budgets, and implement cost control measures.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to promote the hotel and attract new business.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
- Represent the hotel at community events and develop strong local partnerships.
- Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally and effectively.
- Report regularly to ownership or regional leadership on hotel performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of hotel management experience, with at least 3 years as a General Manager.
- Strong financial acumen with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance goals.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of hotel systems (e.g., PMS like Opera, POS systems).
- Experience in the Kenyan hospitality market is highly desirable.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Kenya.
Preferred Skills:
- Multilingual (English and Swahili required; additional languages an advantage).
- Experience with international hotel brands or independently managed properties.
- Knowledge of current hospitality trends and guest expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage change effectively.
