What does the role require?
Honestly, the role of an Athena Executive Partner is limitless.
There isn’t a ‘one description fits all’ as the role is wonderfully varied based on our clients’ needs. Athena XPs, in addition to the below day-to-day requirements, have planned weddings, organized dinner parties, forged new friendships and business relationships, developed new skills like web design, and produced podcasts – and that’s just to name a few.
Day-to-day requirements:
- Optimize your client’s time and priorities to help them reach their ambitious goals
- Take ownership and manage calendars and scheduling
- Research and develop plans for your client’s personal and professional growth
- Surprise and delight your client by demonstrating initiative
- Build rapport with your client’s network and team and help to manage these important relationships
- Drive internal and external communications, presentations, reports, and social media

The Opportunity
As Chief of Staff, you will be a critical bridge between the leader and their organization, ensuring clear communication, strategic oversight, and operational excellence. This unique opportunity will significantly impact the organization’s growth trajectory as you collaborate closely with the leadership team to refine and execute the organization’s strategic priorities.Additionally, you will manage both professional and personal aspects for the leader, seamlessly integrating work-life balance with strategic business management, empowering them to focus on high-level responsibilities.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution. Assist in crafting and implementing the organization’s strategic plan.
- Operational Efficiency. Analyze and optimize internal processes to enhance organizational efficiency, ensuring resources align with organizational goals. Develop new frameworks to streamline productivity and implement metrics and dashboards for continuous improvement.
- Leadership & Decision Support. Act as a trusted advisor to the leader, providing research, analysis, and recommendations on critical issues. Facilitate decision-making processes to achieve timely and effective outcomes.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management. Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders in both the leader’s personal and professional spheres. Ensure the leader’s vision is effectively communicated across all levels of the organization and represent them in key meetings and engagements.
- Executive Communication. Prepare high-quality presentations, reports, and briefs for the leader. Develop materials for board meetings, investor relations, and external communications.
- Personal and Professional Nexus. Serve as the linchpin between the leader’s personal and professional realms, managing diverse stakeholder interactions—from investors and board members to family and personal contacts—with tact, diplomacy, and discretion. Ensure seamless integration of the leader’s professional commitments with personal responsibilities, enhancing effectiveness across all aspects of their life.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree.
- Required: 5+ years of experience in a strategic role within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
- Preferred: MBA or similar advanced degree.
- Preferred: Experience in consulting, investment banking, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience in business travel, including pre-arrival and post-departure experience.
