KEY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing advice on making a claim and the processes involved
- Processing new insurance claims notifications
- Collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim
- Analyzing a claim made by a policymaker
- Contacting service providers a network of approved professionals and arranging for them to make repairs on the policyholder’s property
- Monitoring the progress of a claim
- Investigating potentially fraudulent claims
- Identifying reasons why full payment may not be made
- Ensuring fair settlement of a valid claim
- Building relationships with loss adjusters, forensic accountants and solicitors, as well as other legal/claims professionals
- Ensuring the customer is treated fairly and that the customer receives excellent service in accordance with industry and company guidelines
- Handling any complaints associated with a claim
- Initiating legal recovery of monies paid out
- Maintaining good broker relations
- Keeping cost at a bare minimum
- Adhering to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the company.
- Ensuring premiums are settled prior to claim processing.
- Liaising with the underwriting department for policy terms and endorsements.
- Advising on loss making/non performing brokers.
- Ensuring that all enquiries by clients and or stakeholders are responded to promptly and appropriately.
- Ensuring that discharge vouchers are dispatched and settled as per the guidelines.
- Ensuring that records in respect of claims processed are available and maintained correctly for effectiveness in responding to policyholders’ queries.
- Regular briefing to the departmental manager and making consultations.
- Entering claims data to the system
- Assisting and training new staff on work procedures and company policies to ensure effective client service
- Participating and contributing in meetings, discussions and consultations with other team members to ensure that all hindrances to job performance are addressed in good time.

- Ensure vigilance in identifying fraudulent claims by reviewing damage consistency and client interaction.
- Book vehicles and coordinate their safe towing to the salvage yard.
- Ensure the security and proper handling of vehicle contents, parts, tools, and equipment
- Maintain accurate booking records for all vehicles remaining at the assessment center.
- Ensure safe custody of all vehicle contents and parts.
- Ensure that clients sign all booking inventories before leaving.
- Collaborate with the daylight guard to control unauthorized entry to the centre.

KEY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keeping recovery records which include:
- Recovery register
- Discharge vouchers register
- Incoming cheques register both from advocates and in-house settlements
- Monitoring the Recovery register; this includes but is not limited to updating the same and ensuring that all matters appearing are recoverable, and not time-barred.
- Responding to demand letters to third parties and insurance firms.
- Drafting legal opinions on settlement proposals on matters in court, swapping, and pursuing the knock-for-knock settlements.
- Following up with witnesses to attend court when required.

KEY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing and approving recovery strategies and settlement proposals within the job holder’s limit. For proposals beyond the job holder’s limit, making further recommendations and forwarding to senior management for approval.
- Approving claims both on file and system settlements within allocated approval limits.
- Allocating advocates to handle various matters and, where required, appointing investigators.
- Ensuring prompt settlements of recoveries as per TATs to avoid proclamations and auctioneers.
- Monitoring all suits filed against the insured and ensuring adequate measures are maintained as per regulations.
- Empanelling advocates and investigators, and reviewing and evaluating their performance.
- Providing detailed and researched legal opinions on claims, litigation matters, and those relating to the group.
