Medical Laboratory Technologist Interns – (10) Posts

Requirement for appointment

  • Be a Kenyan citizen not over the age of 35 years
  • Be in possession of a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Techniciansand Technologist Board (KMLTTB) acquired within the last twenty-four (24) months
  • Registration Certificate issued by KMLTTB
  • Valid practicing license from KMLTTB
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
  • Not have benefited from a similar internship program or been exposed to work experiencerelated to their area of study since graduating. Not have exited from formal employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glassware, surfaces, and equipment; documentingandreceiving samples for analysis;
  • Preparing laboratory reagents;
  • Carrying out chemical/microbiological analysis on samples (food, water, wastewater, andbeverages);
  • Extracting, isolating, and identifying drugs, pesticides, and heavy metals frombiological andmiscellaneous samples; and disposing of laboratory waste.
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

Terms and Renumeration: 30,000 Shillings per month for one year (non-renewable)
