Nairobi Focal Point Coordinator (1 Volunteer Needed)

Role Overview:

The Nairobi Focal Point Coordinator will serve as the primary representative for Kijiji Kwetu in Nairobi, driving the execution of initiatives, fostering partnerships, and coordinating urban-focused programs to advance the organization’s mission.

Reports:

Monthly reports will be compiled and sent to kijijikwetu01@gmail.com.

Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the central liaison between Kijiji Kwetu and Nairobi-based stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and community organizations.
  • Project Coordination: Oversee the implementation of Nairobi-based projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timely delivery of outputs.
  • Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and maintain strategic partnerships to
    enhance the impact of initiatives in Nairobi.
  • Event Representation: Represent Kijiji Kwetu in city-level events, forums, and policy
    discussions to promote its mission and objectives.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the progress of Nairobi projects, providing detailed
    updates on milestones, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with local communities to foster buy-in
    and participation in Kijiji Kwetu’s initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven background in project management, community development, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with urban sustainability challenges, particularly in Nairobi.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, organized, and committed to advancing Kijiji Kwetu’s mission.

Research and Development Coordinator (1 Volunteer Needed)

Role Overview:

The Research and Development Coordinator will lead efforts to generate actionable insights through research, foster innovation, and support evidence-based decision-making for Kijiji Kwetu’s projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct primary and secondary research on sustainability, plastic waste management, and community resilience.
  • Data Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive research database to support project planning and implementation.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Analyze research findings to generate insights and provide recommendations for program enhancement.
  • Innovation Development: Explore and propose innovative methods, technologies, and tools to improve project outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to align research efforts with organizational objectives.
  • Reporting: Present findings in well-structured reports, visuals, and presentations to inform decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Background in research, data analysis, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in managing research projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, or Power BI.
  • Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for sustainability and climate action.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent writing and presentation skills to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
