Senior Accountant at Knights Energy Limited
A senior accountant is needed with a minimum 3-5 years experience and Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and accounting skills.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and relevant regulations.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
- Experience with audit preparations (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Excellent communication and problemsolving abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting including monthly closings, monthly/ quarterly financial statement preparation, financial and statutory audit, general ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Ensure all transactions are recorded and coded accurately in QuickBooks
- Liaise with the accountants in Uganda and Tanzania to ensure local accounts are prepared timeously and accurately
- Prepare project budgets and submit them for approval
- Work with the Finance Director to Prepare Quarterly budgets, which should be measured against the business’s actual performance. Variances should be reported with supporting explanations.
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date operational cashflow which clearly shows inflows, outflows, bank balances, and any other information that might be necessary
- Maintain accurate accounts receivables and payables reports that are reconciled at any given point
- Maintain asset register that is updated and reconciled on a monthly basis with additions, disposals, and any other relevant information
- Prepare and share audit schedules when requested
- Ad Hoc duties and support to the broader team
