School Counsellor at Reeds Africa Consult

Job Summary: The School Counsellor will support students’ academic, emotional, and social development by providing guidance and counselling services and helping them navigate challenges.

They also work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to foster a positive learning environment and promote student well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counselling to support learners’ mental, emotional, and academic well-being.
  • Respond to crises by offering immediate support and coordinating with relevant departments.
  • Promote mental health awareness through workshops, seminars, and educational campaigns.
  • Develop and implement counselling programs tailored to learners needs.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to address learners welfare concerns.
  • Maintain confidential records and report on counselling activities to school management.

Key Requirements & Skills

  • 1 to 2 years experience handling learners in Kindergarten, Primary and Junior Schools
  • Degree and/or Diploma in Psychological Counselling.
  • Registered with the Kenya Counsellors & Psychologists Association or similar professional body.
