Job Overview
The Sales Representative at Bles Farm Dairies East Africa will play a key role in engaging medium and large-scale farms with a main focus on selling silage and dairy meal, with the opportunity to cross-sell genetics and other products.
The rep is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring commercial conversion, and coordinating closely with the Farm Management Support (FMS) team to deliver technical value on-farm.
This is a commercial, farm-facing role – not a technical advisory role – but working in close collaboration with nutrition and reproduction specialists.
This position is based in Chaka, Nyeri, and covers farms primarily in the Mount Kenya & Central Kenya region
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Account Development
• Drive sales of silage and dairy meal to medium and large-scale dairy farms, with opportunity to cross-sell our genetics, and other products
• Support onboarding of farms into FMS by aligning product use with advisory service models
• Build lasting relationships with high-potential farms, developing them into key accounts
Collaboration with FMS Team
• Work closely with the Farm Management Support Team (technical team on nutrition and reproduction)
• Coordinate joint visits when technical support is needed
• Ensure advisory support is leveraged to strengthen retention and cross-sell
• Maintain a consultative but commercial approach in all engagements
Customer Follow-Up & Conversion
• Follow up on all farm leads from the distributor team and field visits
• Track and improve conversion rates from farm visits to actual orders
• Ensure customers are properly followed up for orders, delivery, and feedback
Reporting & CRM Discipline
• Log visits in the Daily Visit Report (DVR)
• Track sales performance and visit effectiveness
• Share customer feedback and market insights with the commercial team
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Health, Livestock Production, or related field
Experience:
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in farm-level sales or agribusiness
• Experience with livestock feed or farm input sales
• Familiarity with dairy farms in the Mt. Kenya region is an advantage
Skills & Attributes:
• Strong commercial drive with a structured, follow-through mindset
• Good communicator with the ability to engage farmers and farm managers
• Able to work independently while collaborating with technical teams
• Comfortable with basic reporting and CRM use
• Fluent in English and Swahili; Kikuyu is a strong advantage
