Join Our Team as a Mechanic.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. A Mechanic at Kenya Builders & Concrete Co. Ltd will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of motor vehicles through scheduled preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair of specialized components in line with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose vehicles using observational methods, mechanical testing, and driver feedback.
- Perform basic checks, including oil changes and filter replacements, to ensure vehicles run properly.
- Carry out routine mechanical, electrical, welding, or machining maintenance activities, including lubrication, inspection, and replacement of parts.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle service, history, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Respond to breakdowns promptly and resolve issues as per laid down procedures.
- Inspect and verify parts’ dimensions and clearances to meet factory specifications.
- Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure mechanical soundness and detect any further issues.
- Plan and generate timelines for service or maintenance tasks to reduce downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe garage workspace.
- Implement EHS programs to ensure strict compliance with company policies.
Key Outputs/Deliverables:
- Reliable and efficient automobiles through timely mechanical maintenance and repairs.
- Proper implementation of maintenance schedules.
- Up-to-date maintenance and spares records.
- Safe operations, with strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a busy garage or workshop.
- Strong mechanical background with proven troubleshooting and repair skills
- Hands-on experience diagnosing, updating, and repairing malfunctioning equipment.
- Ability to conduct preventative maintenance effectively.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and record-keeping.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
