Position Overview:
The Matron will play a crucial role in providing care and support to our students, ensuring their well-being and promoting a positive school experience. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children and young adults, and who possesses the necessary skills to help them navigate their emotional and social challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and caring environment for students, addressing their physical and emotional needs.
- Support students in developing positive relationships and effective coping strategies.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, dorm parents and parents to promote student welfare.
- Organize and oversee recreational activities and programmes during the weekend that encourage personal development.
- Respond to emergencies and crises involving students, providing immediate support as needed.
Qualifications:
- A genuine passion for working with children and young adults.
- Certification of good conduct.
- Training in psychology, counseling, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be an added advantage.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with students and colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience in a school or educational setting is an advantage.
