Role Description
The People Operations Manager will oversee and manage various aspects of the human
resources function within Peach: recruitment and onboarding, performance management,
retention management and employee relations.
Roles and Responsibilities.
● Manage the recruitment process for managerial positions and above within the
organization. This involves sourcing candidates and conducting interviews, to ensure the
right candidates are selected.
Result: Managerial positions are hired for with a 90% success rate
● Own all onboardings and probation review: Oversee the onboarding process for new
hires, ensure they have a smooth transition into the organization. In addition to this you
conduct all probationary reviews for new employees.
Result: New employees are onboarded successfully; onboarding materials are
improved regularly; reviews are given in the time outlined
● Performance management. Participate in the biannual performance reviews to provide
feedback and support to all employees.
Result: Reviews are developed and delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
● Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor
laws and promote a positive work environment. This includes policies related to hiring,
performance management, employee conduct, etc.
Result: HR policies are outlined; compliant and updated regularly. Systems for
updating are in place and regularly checked.
● Design and implement systems and processes to support the team’s growth for
scalability in the organization.
Result: Process innovations are suggested regularly; scalability is considered in
all decision making
● Oversee the administration of employee payroll. Additionally, you would manage
employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, and other perks.
Result: Employee payroll + benefits programs are managed without issues
● Collect and analyze key HR data such as employee turnover. This information would be
used to inform strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
Result: Information is tracked regularly and reported on; areas of improvement
are identified
● Promote Peach culture. Create more awareness of Peach culture and find ways of
creating a positive work culture where employees feel valued, engaged, and motivated.
Result: Values are communicated to all employees; Peach culture is strong
● Retention management: Develop strategies to retain top talent within the organization,
including implementing employee engagement initiatives, conducting exit interviews to
identify reasons for turnover, and addressing any issues that may be contributing to
employee dissatisfaction.
Result: Exit interviews are completed and reported upon; data backed insights to
determine strategy are reported on; employee engagement initiatives are
implemented & reported on
Preferred qualifications and requirements:
● Candidates should be an experienced HR / People Ops professional with successes
across the range of recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top talent from local and
international markets.
● Five to ten years’ prior experiences in managerial HR, People Ops, and people
management are required.
● Discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to listen, analyze and
inform appropriately while maintaining the required sensibilities in handling confidential
information.
● Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems
● Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, or equivalent qualification from a
recognized Institution.

Role description
We are looking for a new member of our team to accelerate the growth of Peach across Kenya. As the Growth Manager, you will support our efforts to scope, set up and launch new showrooms faster and more efficiently than we currently do at present. The role will be largely focused on geographic expansion at the beginning, but will grow into someone who can support other expansion modalities – whether internal Sales optimizations, Sales trials, and/or scoping and launching a new business vertical at Peach.
We are looking for a generalist who has experience in Marketing, Operations, Sales, Product – such that they’re able to see and understand their work from different, critical perspectives. The person must demonstrate the following values (1) Humility: Nothing is below you – you’re more than happy to get “dirty” by doing what’s needed to achieve our goals (2) Curiosity: You make assumptions, but also rigorously test them. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Sales Out Growth
Research
- Understand Peach business model and answer the what, where, when, why around our expansion plans
- Test and hypothesize ideas around geographic expansion vis-a-vis data analysis, on the ground scoping and other remote efforts
- Synthesize findings and scoping efforts to make data-informed recommendations to management around where to expand to and other opportunities that exist
Implementation
- Identify options for properties for showrooms that meet Peach strategic needs and cost constraints
- Do this in a systematic way to ensure we are tracking who, what, where, when how much, why etc.
- Lead on due diligence of potential properties – also tracking efforts and outcomes
- Lead on leasing process with Peach exec team, legal and external stakeholders to identify appropriate lease duration and price.
- Project manage all works and physical improvements to the site in preparation for launch
- Site launch, support for initial launch phase and conduct an “after action revenue” to identify wins and lessons learned
Collaborations
- Collaborate with Head of Sales and People team to ensure the talent needs of the new location are fully understand that we either (1) have the staff on board already or are (2) hiring for the needed roles within the timelines needed
- Work with Legal to ensure the property due diligence is conducted, all required permits are received in advance of work etc.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure that a budget is made for the new facility set-up that matches the operational context at hand (i.e. taking over a pre-built showroom v. deploying a greenfield site); manage payments day-to-day
- Work alongside Admin to scope necessary works and contractors; manage and implementation
- Collaborate with IT to scope necessary works and contracts; manage implementation
Sales In-Growth
- If/when applicable, work with CGO, COO, Head of Sales, Sales team and others to drive forward project efforts aimed at optimizing existing Sales team efforts and outcomes
Testing other advancements for Sales Growth
- If/when applicable, work with CGO, COO, Head of Sales, Sales team, and others to drive forward project efforts aimed at amplifying sales outcomes vis-a-vis Peach’s marketplace model
Testing other business verticals and value adds
- If/when applicable, work with the CGO, COO and others to drive forward project efforts aimed at understanding opportunities / challenges around, conducting trials on, and making a final “go v. no go” decision around business verticals beyond car sales
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Sociology or related field
- 5-10 years of previous, demonstrable experience with Research, Entrepreneurship,
- Venture-Building, End-to-end project management and delivery, and Business expansion – either new market scoping and set up or new service / product scoping and set up
- Go-to-market strategy / practice
- This is more of an individual contributor role – prior management experience- not required
- Strategic thinker and coordinator by nature
- Expert communication and leadership skills with the ability to sit amongst a number of stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
