Job Overview
We are pleased to announce a vacancy in the position of Electric Technician at Kinangop Dairy Limited
To install, maintain, and repair electrical, electromechanical, and electronic components of machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. The role supports continuous operations by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing system upgrades, while adhering to safety standards and maintaining accurate service records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and repair electrical, electromechanical and electronic parts of machinery and equipment.
- Install improvements and major upgrades to electrical plant and subsystems.
- Communicate estimated timelines for repairs to those impacted.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Commit to compliance with all safety standard and regulations at all times.
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance to stay ahead of potential issues.
- Troubleshoot all problems effectively, performing quality, lasting repairs.
- Log all services and report progress to management.
- Maintain all equipment in excellent working order.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform any other assigned duties by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- At least a Diploma in Electrical Engineering & Electronics
- Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings & Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment
- Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
- At least 2 years working in a manufacturing set-up with some experience in a Dairy Processing Plant will be an added advantage
- Good Maintenance and shutdown planning skills
