About the job

We are looking for a dedicated Construction Site Foreman at Dancom Construction Ltd to oversee the daily operations of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will manage on-site teams, ensure the timely availability of materials and equipment, and ensure project objectives are met on schedule and within budget. Strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with engineers, architects, and contractors to review project goals, timelines, and progress.
  • Lead and motivate skilled and unskilled site workforce, ensuring efficient workflows, safety compliance, and adherence to project goals.
  • Ensure all material, tools, and equipment are on-site and ready to prevent project delays.
  • Monitor project costs, including labor, materials, sub-contractors and equipment, ensuring expenses stay within budget.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Ensure the project adheres to established timelines, meeting daily and weekly deadlines.
  • Enforce strict health and safety standards and conduct regular safety toolbox meetings.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining clear communication with clients, ensuring timely and accurate job completion.
  • Maintain and ensure the upkeep of all company-issued tools and equipment.
  • Overseeing overall site housekeeping and tidiness.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support project success.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in construction management, civil engineering, building technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction or a related field, with strong knowledge of construction processes and project management.
  • NCA accreditation and / or registration with relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
  • Should be ready to work anywhere in Kenya.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Skilled in budgeting, cost control, and project scheduling.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid, construction safety) are a plus.
