Job Title: Boarding Matron
The Boarding Matron at Greensteds International School provides care, support, and supervision for boarding pupils, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being while fostering a homely, supportive environment within the boarding house.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a caring and approachable adult presence in the boarding house.
- Support the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of pupils.
- Provide first aid, oversee medication, and liaise with medical professionals as needed.
- Assist with daily routines including wake-up, meals, hygiene, and bedtime.
- Oversee pupils’ personal organisation, laundry, and clothing requirements.
- Ensure the boarding environment is clean, safe and well maintained.
- Work closely with Houseparents, staff and parents to support pupil welfare.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection responsibilities at all times.
Essential qualities:
- Warm, caring and approachable with young people.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organised, reliable and flexible.
- Basic first aid knowledge (or willingness to train).
- Desirable qualities:
- Experience in a pastoral, healthcare, or boarding role.
- First aid or nursing qualification.
- Understanding of safeguarding policies.
- Working Arrangements:
- Term-time position with evening and weekend duties as required.
- May be a residential role with accommodation provided.
