Pursuant to the provisions of the County Government Act. No 17 of 2012 and as captured under
section 44 of the County Governments (Amendment) Act 2020, the recruitment selection panel for
the Chairman Turkana County Public Service Board and County Secretary for Turkana wishes to

appointment of the Youth Polytechnic Instructors at Turkana County Public Service Board positions
- Youth Polytechnic Instructor III – (Carpentry and Joinery) – 2 Posts
- Youth Polytechnic Instructor III – (Plumbing and Pipe Fitting)
- Youth Polytechnic Instructor III – (Welding and Fabrication) – 2 Posts
- Youth Polytechnic Instructor III – (Information and Communication Technology – ICT) – 2 Posts

Youth Polytechnic Instructors at Turkana County Public Service Board
Requirements and competencies for appointment:
- Diploma in any of the following discipline: Building and Construction, Carpentry and joinery or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer application
- Registered by the Technical and Vocational, Education and training authority(TVETA)
Duties and responsibilities: –
- Theoretical and practical instruction in the area of specialization
- Prepare and maintain scheme of work
- Preparing of lesson plans
- Preparing of lesson notes
- Preparing of trainees records, teaching and learning materials
- Carrying out trainees assessment
- Ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment Log
- Conducting co-curricular activities
- Maintaining trainees discipline and
- Guiding and counselling trainees
- Perform any other duty that will be assigned
Youth Polytechnic Instructor III – (Plumbing and Pipe Fitting)
Requirements and competencies for appointment:
- Diploma in any of the following discipline: Water Engineering, Water resource and technology management, Plumbing and Pipe fitting or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer application
- Registered by the Technical and Vocational, Education and training authority (TVETA)
Duties and responsibilities:-
- Theoretical and practical instruction in the area of specialization
- Prepare and maintain scheme of work
- Preparing of lesson plans
- Preparing of lesson notes
- Preparing of trainees records ,teaching and learning materials
- Carrying out trainees assessment
- Ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Conducting co-curricular activities
- Maintaining trainees discipline and
- Guiding and counselling trainees.

- Diploma in any of the following discipline: Mechanical engineering (Production), Welding and fabrication or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer application
- Registered by the Technical and Vocational, Education and training authority(TVETA)
Duties and responsibilities: –
- Theoretical and practical instruction in the area of specialization
- Prepare and maintain scheme of work
- Preparing of lesson plans
- Preparing of lesson notes
- Preparing of trainees records ,teaching and learning materials

- Diploma in any of the following discipline: Computer Science/studies, information and communication technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer application
- Registered by the Technical and Vocational, Education and training authority(TVETA)
Duties and responsibilities: –
- Theoretical and practical instruction in the area of specialization
- Prepare and maintain scheme of work
- Preparing of lesson plans
- Preparing of lesson notes
- Preparing of trainees records ,teaching and learning materials
- Carrying out trainees assessment
- Ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Conducting co-curricular activities
- Maintaining trainees discipline and –
- Guiding and counselling trainees.
- Perform any other duty that will be assigned to you by your immediate supervisor.
