We are seeking to fill the position of a School Counselor at Makini School Cambridge Curriculum to play a vital role in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will lead a comprehensive, competency-based counselling program that addresses the academic, personal, social, and career needs of all students.

The School Counsellor will initiate well-being programmes based on the CAIE framework, promote policies that enhance the educational climate, and provide personalized support to students facing various challenges.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Education Psychology or related field.
Registration with the relevant professional body/s
At least three years’ demonstrable counselling experience in an international school.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Values

Ability to effectively convey information to students and positively influence others.
Skilled in instructing, mentoring, and counselling students; able to work with parents, teachers, and children to develop strategies for addressing behavioural, personality, or academic challenges.
Proficient in comparing, compiling, analyzing, and coordinating activities systematically.
Strong temperament skills with the ability to inspire and motivate pupils to adjust their attitudes, demonstrating both interpersonal and decision-making abilities.
Experienced in providing referrals, counselling, assessments, diagnostics, and report writing.
Includes pupil rostering/scheduling and maintaining individual pupil records.
