Description

We are seeking to fill the position of a School Counselor at Makini School Cambridge Curriculum to play a vital role in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will lead a comprehensive, competency-based counselling program that addresses the academic, personal, social, and career needs of all students.

The School Counsellor will initiate well-being programmes based on the CAIE framework, promote policies that enhance the educational climate, and provide personalized support to students facing various challenges.

This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and contribute to a thriving school community.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Education Psychology or related field.
  • Registration with the relevant professional body/s
  • At least three years’ demonstrable counselling experience in an international school.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Values

  • Ability to effectively convey information to students and positively influence others.
    Skilled in instructing, mentoring, and counselling students; able to work with parents, teachers, and children to develop strategies for addressing behavioural, personality, or academic challenges.
  • Proficient in comparing, compiling, analyzing, and coordinating activities systematically.
  • Strong temperament skills with the ability to inspire and motivate pupils to adjust their attitudes, demonstrating both interpersonal and decision-making abilities.
  • Experienced in providing referrals, counselling, assessments, diagnostics, and report writing.
  • Includes pupil rostering/scheduling and maintaining individual pupil records.
