LOCATION:
The successful candidate will be deployed in any of the following locations where
KEMSA has operations countrywide – Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Garissa, Meru,
Nyeri, Kakamega, Kisii, Eldoret, Nakuru. He /She must be ready and willing to work
in the allocated geographical region/area.
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
- Reporting to the Transport Officer, the Driver will be charged with the responsibility of driving the Authority’s staff, stakeholders and medical commodities as shall be assigned from time to time.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Driving as per the route schedule as authorized.
- Detection and reporting common motor vehicle faults.
- Liaising with appointed service providers to facilitate motor vehicle maintenance/repairs.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the assigned vehicles.
- Maintain/update motor vehicle work ticket for vehicles assigned to him/her.
- Ensure security and safety of passengers and/or goods and that of the vehicle; both on and off the road.
- To keep up to date vehicle mileage log and other details as required.
- Maintain records of vehicle fuel, repair and service costs
- To follow instructions from the Transport Coordinator or from the officer assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Suitable candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Be in possession of a mean grade of D+ at KCSE.
- Hands-on driving experience of not less than three (3) years.
- Be in possession of a valid driving license Classes B-C-E free from any endorsement.
- Must have good knowledge on route mapping.
- Ability to use online route applications
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Those with Certificates in First Aid; Defensive Driving or Occupational Safety and Health will have added advantage.

Plumber – 2 Posts

PURPOSE STATEMENT:
- Reporting to the Projects Team Leader, the Plumber will be expected to carry out repair and maintenance of all plumbing and related installations in order to maximize usability in all facilities at Kenya Medical Supplies Authority in and around Nairobi and on occasion other KEMSA Depots across Kenya
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Carry out repair and maintenance works on all plumbing fittings and installations;
- Conduct daily checks on water levels to ensure it remains at the right level;
- Check to ensure water pump and fire system are running without any disruptions;
- Requisition for spare parts for plumbing works in line with requirements;
- Carry out services on hot and cold-water installations and drainage installations as and when required;
- Maintain the working areas and the workshop in clean and hygienic conditions in line with established guidelines;
- Attend to any emergency situations related to plumbing during as and when they arise;
- Conduct regular and scheduled maintenance of the water pumps to clear any clogging and airlock;
- Responsible for softening water to reduce corrosion of the pipes;
- Reading meters and maintaining accurate records
- Repair and ensure all the drainage (gutters & pipes) around the school are not clogged; and
- Liaise with external plumbing contractors on any works that they may be requested to carry out.

- A craft certificate in Plumbing Grade 1 from a recognized institution
- Five (5) years of experience in plumbing installation and maintenance work.

- Reporting to the Projects Team Leader, the Electrician will be expected to safely perform electrical installations, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding and trouble-shooting, design, construction and inspection & test to Low Voltage (LV) equipment & installations across the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority in and around Nairobi and on occasion other KEMSA Depots across Kenya
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Carry out planned maintenance activities, projects, refurbishments and react to electrical breakdowns or faults in a timely, professional & customer focused manner.
- Execute repairs and works safely and in accordance with the quality standards of the FCO, industry best practice, British standards and Kenyan electrical regulations & requirements where applicable to LV domestic / housing electrical works and light industrial / commercial plant and equipment.
- Take ownership of electrical projects, repairs and producing technical reports within accurate time frames for completion of works.
- Safely perform electrical testing and produce electrical installation condition reports or electrical installation certificates as required and on completion of works.
- Support and encourage colleagues in electrical methods including design, installation, inspection, testing and interpretation of drawings.
- Liaise with technical & non-technical colleagues to provide updates on works progress in a suitable language that is understood by all parties.
- Actively contribute to safe working practices and ensure all work is undertaken safely by self and others.
