Restaurant Supervisor

Basic job summary:

  • The Job holder will be responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in the timely provision of food and beverages at the service area while maintaining a clean environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall supervision and management of waitresses/waiters.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager to prepare work schedules for staff and follow up on various staff issues.
  • Train, coach, and mentor casual employees.
  • Act as a communication liaison between the manager and the waitresses/waiters
  • Maintain a good working atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Food Production, Food and Beverage, or any other related field from a recognized institution
  • Professional course in leadership will be an added advantage

Experience:

  • At least 2 years’ relevant work experience in a busy environment in a supervisory role

Steward Attendant

Basic job summary:

  • The Job holder will be responsible for ensuring that all training materials and ingredients are delivered to the training units and cleanliness, and hygiene is maintained all through the kitchen and the stores.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize food storage areas, dish washing machine, tables and counters as required.
  • Clean the floor and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the day.
  • Ensure all the trays, cutlery, crockery, hollowware and utensils are well cleaned, polished and arranged, and supplied to the cafeteria as needed.
  • Maintain clear records of daily stock take by counting and recording all cutlery and crockery. Report all discrepancies and breakages to the supervisor.
  • Prepare and display hot beverages, for the catering and housekeeping staff.
  • Clean and refill the fridges with cold beverages as needed by clients.
  • Maintain high level of communication within the department sections for seamless customer service and satisfaction
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the supervisor.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
  • At least 2 years in banqueting services in a dynamic environment

Basic job summary:

  • The Job holder will be responsible for assisting the Restaurant Supervisor in delivering exceptional Food and Beverage Service experience to university guests, students and staff members in a manner that is prompt, courteous, and efficient.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve food and beverages to guests as per duty Rota, ensuring first class service to all customers.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in the food service area at all times to maintain high standards of food hygiene as per the stipulated standards.
  • Refill serving stations or dining areas with food and supplies such as beverages, food, cutlery, napkins and linens when necessary.
  • Provide customers with general information or assistance on the menus upon request
  • Co – ordinate with the chefs and cashiers to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction
  • Clean tables and counters after guests have finished dining.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Arranging and setting up tables for special request functions, ensuring that all events are set by the guidance of functions checklist.
  • Handle special requests and dietary requirements, communicating them effectively to the kitchen staff where applicable
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, baristas, and other waiters to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
  • The post-holder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Head of Department.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Food Production, Food and Beverage, or any other related field from a recognized institution

Basic job summary:

  • The Job holder will be responsible for preparing food for sale following established recipes and to help come up with new methods of cooking and new menu items.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Orders food commodities needed as per the menu of the day
  • Prepare ingredients and cook different dishes as per the recipes and in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Position, serve and garnish food for sale and special functions
  • Properly and hygienically store food items at appropriate temperature
  • Estimate expected food consumption and requisition for food items
  • Cleans and sanitizes the work areas, tools and other equipment
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the head cook

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Food Production or a related course from a recognized institution
