Graphic Designer – TV at Mediamax Network Ltd

The Role –

A creative and motivated Graphic Designer for TV to be based in Nairobi.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Plan, execute creative execution of daily briefs for all internal clients including TV, Print and Radio teams as directed by the head of Section.
  • Execute assigned station design work adhering to provided briefs and adhering to station brand/look and feel.
  • Use branded and formatted graphics for daily news and production.
  • Liaise with local programme producers to execute (within set deadlines) creative programme montages and graphic segments adhering to provided briefs.
  • Liaise closely with daily news teams to ensure daily news graphics: scrolls, lower third, touch screen graphics are prepared and go on air with no errors.
  • Ensure that all graphics materials produced follow provided briefs accurately.
  • Ensure expected availability and due preparedness of all Graphics for all LIVE broadcasts and Studio recordings.
  • Ensure quality delivery of all LIVE graphics for news and live events working closely with Producers and news directors.
  • Consumer satisfaction with daily graphics deliverables.
  • Growth in TV ratings attributed to creative, attractive, eye catching and brand building graphics on all in-house shows and news.
  • Ensure all commercial and marketing briefs adhere to the Brand guidelines and are signed off as expected.
  • Ensure all Station graphics on air adhere to predesigned templates and Station look and feel.
  • Customer Service: Maximum 24 hour turn around for resolution of complaints.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Eye for Detail, analytical thinker, efficient and goal oriented.
  • Provide Innovative solutions to problems.
  • Work well as a team player.
  • A love of media – specifically television – is essential.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), and an excellent ability to create and maintain high-level, productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Video Editing skills – Final Cut Pro.
  • Graphics Packages: After Effects, Adobe packages, Photoshop etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Professional qualifications at least a Diploma in Graphic Design.
  • With an experience of at least 2 years in mainstream – TV.
